Anchor: A group held a “Save Our Capitol” rally today, as construction continues at Capitol State Park; that group wants to preserve the original features of the Capitol Annex. They say legislators can have a safe workplace by renovating the Annex section, instead of getting rid of it. They are also trying to keep the trees in the area, some are scheduled to be relocated.

Paula Peper: We think it could be done in a much less expensive way, the whole construction, also without removing the trees that you see being removed and set up to be relocated.

Anchor: The renovation includes a proposed all glass Annex for security, and a new underground parking garage. 4 lawsuits have been filed, challenging the ongoing project.
